Former Premier League striker Dalian Atkinson dies after be tasered by police

Former Aston Villa striker Dalian Atkinson died Monday after being shot by police in his father's house in Telford, England with a Taser.

The 48-year-old Atkinson has a cardiac arrest on the way to hospital, according to paramedics. He was briefly pronounced dead on arrival.

According to the BBC, described a neighbor Atkinson to see, after about 01:30 Taser "journey" to be the police.

"I saw two policemen screaming man and what kind of towards them stumbled and police have warned they would Taser, but it seemed a little, maybe drunk," Paula Quinn Shropshire Star said.

"And since he did not even miss or twice - not threatening - put the Taser" said Quinn.

Independent Complaints against the police are investigating the incident.

Atkinson also has the distinction the first goal in the Premier League for Aston Villa from scoring and won the first game of the 1994 League Cup final victory over Manchester United Villa. Atkinson began his career at Ipswich Town and also played for Sheffield Wednesday and Fenerbahce among others.
