Portuguese coach Andre Villas-Boas took over the Spurs in 2012 and led them to their maximum total points each time this season with 72 points. It was also the highest score points for the team, which finished in four of the Premier League.

Speaking to FIFA.com this week, he suggested that to lead in another time, might have been able to the Spurs championship:

"It was a time of high and low. Obviously he did not explain where we have won titles, which could be proud of.

"But in the meantime succeeded Tottenham the registration number of points to get a historic moment for the club. Maybe if it at another time, as this season had happened, we would have even been champions."

Of course, 72 points were not enough to keep the league this season with Leicester finish to win the season with 81 points. But it was enough to see to be second - if BAV can still feel slighted rightly by the way that he was released the next year:

"Last season I spent at Tottenham, was the one who was totally unexpected. We had more points and more wins than the previous season.

"Unfortunately, the president and the board was held in the coach believe decided to change it, and it was a shame."

He was fired by the Spurs with the seventh club in the Premier League in December 2013 following a 5-0 defeat at home to eventual title contenders Liverpool.

It was, however, despite a decent record points over the previous year to an exemplary record and a spot in the quarter-finals of the Europa League League Cup.

AVB had but after a series lost the White Hart Lane by poor results for Spurs fans and the inability to meet many signings the club had made after the sale of Gareth Bale to convert.

So while you may still feel slightly hurt by his departure, the Spurs fans would probably still Poch in AVB.

How has BAV with the Spurs this term?
